10 WordPress Plugins For Easy Social Sharing

WordPress is widely popular in part because of its ease of modification. Part of this modification is done through different plugins. When you spend a lot of time writing a blog post or creating a landing page, you want people to be able to share it. Here are several social sharing WordPress plugins to help your readers share your hard work.

1. Animated Twitter Bird

While this social sharing WordPress plugin doesn’t add a direct social sharing option, it does let your readers connect with you outside of your site. There are a lot of people who may comment on Twitter but not say a word to you in the comment section.

2. Respond (advertising and social sharing with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn)

There is always a cost to having a site. Even if that cost is just a web host, the money needs to come from somewhere. Respond is a dual purpose social sharing WordPress plugin packaging social sharing with possible revenue. You will need to sign up for an account with them and let them check out your site before you can start earning though.

3. Trackable Social Share Icons

When you are marketing anything, there is a good chance you will want to track what you are doing to make sure your efforts aren’t wasted. Trackable Social Share Icons is a good place to start tracking how people are sharing your site. One feature here that differentiates Trackable Social Share Icons is it links to Google Analytics.

4. Add Google +1 (Plus one) Social Share Button

Google+ is growing like crazy and shouldn’t be overlooked. If your audience is there, it is a good idea to give them a way to share. Add Google +1 lets you add the +1 button to the location of your choosing with a bit of code, or by setting the default location and size.

5. Social Media Widget

This sidebar widget lets you have a ton of different social icons in your WordPress Sidebar. Many times, if people don’t see the social site they want to share on, they don’t dig any farther than a glance to find it.

6. Follow Me

Follow Me is one of those icons that stick to the side of the page and stays in the same spot as you scroll up and down the page. At the time of this writing, there are 43 different social sites you can ask people to follow you on. Some sites are not your normal choices like Blip.fm and Mahalo.

7. Share and Follow

Share and Follow is a combination plugin. You will get both the icons at the bottom of each post or page and the sticky tab that stays in one location to the side of every page. Share and Follow is a very customizable plugin compared to some of the other social plugins for WordPress available.

8. Simple Facebook Connect

Simple Facebook Connect is one of the fastest ways for you to add a whole bunch of Facebook specific sharing options to your site. You are able to add everything from sharing buttons to a fan box and even access to your page from your WordPress admin dashboard. If you like this plugin, there are other similar plugins for Twitter and Google+ in the plugin repository.

9. Wibiya

Wibiya is the only social plugin for WordPress on this list that creates a toolbar at the bottom of the page on your site. Toolbars can be an unobtrusive way to add sharing and other features to your site. For example, with a Wibiya toolbar, you can add links to share to Facebook and Twitter, a link to your YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitter feed and your most recent blog post to the toolbar.

10. Social Metrics

If you can’t track something, it never happened. Tracking the reach you have on social networks is a must these days. Social Metrics is a social plugin for WordPress that tracks your awesomeness on these sites. You can see how many people are sharing your information and who they are. If they are already talking about you, don’t you think you may want to see what they are talking about and maybe add your 2 cents?

Conclusion

There are a ridiculous amount of different WordPress plugins for making your site easier to share via social networking site. Overall, it makes more sense to know where your audience is sharing than just tossing 35 social icons at the bottom of each post or page on your site.
