Nov 10th at the National Convention Centre is eircom Spiders night.
It rolls around with increasing speed, it seems, with its stated mission to give due respect to Irish individuals and organisations for outstanding achievements online.
As the organisers put it, ‘there are 20 award categories which range from “Best Interactive Marketing Campaign”, to “Internet Hero” and the overall “Grand Prix” – recognising online achievements across a wide range of industries including Media, Entertainment, Sports & Leisure, Finance, Retail, Professional Services, Travel, Tourism & Hospitality and e-Business. Although the eircom Spiders have a strong business slant, the awards also recognise the importance of promoting internet usage within the community and award an accolade for “Best Community or Charity Website”.
There are also two People’s Choice awards. “Big Mouth” searches for Ireland’s most influential internet voice and “Online Community” looks for the favourite peer interest website.
Check out the full shortlist and further info here, and follow the Spiders here on Twitter. Hopefully we’ll see some of you there on the 10th. With Dara O’Briain!
